Lean Healthcare Academic Conference

Join a program of influential speakers at the Lean Healthcare Academic Conference at Stanford by submitting your abstract (here) for either an oral or poster presentation. We welcome stories from clinicians, leaders, improvement practitioners, and clinical support leaders from across the globe. This conference draws improvers from all roles across the continuum of healthcare. Your perspective and experience are highly valued by our improvement community. First-time presenters are encouraged to submit abstracts and be considered to share an oral or poster presentation within the welcoming environment created by improvement-minded colleagues.

Oral presentations take place in themed break-out sessions facilitated by improvement leaders from across the globe. In addition, a selection of submitters will be offered the opportunity to deliver oral presentations during the plenary program based on the merit of their abstracts.

Poster presentations that highlight stories of improvement from healthcare organizations across the globe will be displayed in the beautiful gardens of the Arrillaga Conference Center. Selected posters will be shared throughout the duration of the 2-day conference, giving presenters opportunities for sharing and networking during breaks, at lunch, and over a beverage at our networking event. The conference team will print and display your posters in advance of your arrival to make presenting a seamless experience. 

This year's conference theme is Leading Sustainable, Next-Generation Improvement, with the following sub-themes to explore together:

• Creating a Culture Where Equitable Improvement Can Thrive

• Failing Forward: Setbacks as steppingstones to success
