The Path Toward Becoming a Learning Health System at Stanford Children's Health

March 10th, 2021

This talk will discuss a framework for enabling improvement and building capacity through project implementation. To facilitate our progress in developing a learning health system that enables continuous improvement and innovation in health, we have developed initiatives that benefit our patients, our care teams, and our organization. The goal is to ensure new knowledge is captured as a by-product of our delivery system and that best practices are integrated into our daily work. The Clinical Data Registry Program supports the use of registries to improve care and enable new discoveries. The Value Improvement Program enhances our capacity to lead value-based care delivery improvements across the care continuum. Our newly launched PEDSnet partnership will allow us to collaborate with a multi-institutional network of health systems on funded research and quality improvement projects. Patient and family engagement are critical for all 3 programs at Stanford Children’s Health.
