Barbette Weimer-Elder

Barbette is the Director of the Physician Partnership Program within Patient Experience at Stanford Health Care. She oversees the strategic plan, administration, and programs for building a relationship-centered culture across Stanford Medicine, with the goals of increasing patient experience and provider professional fulfillment. In addition to implementation, Barbette focuses on research and evaluation of interventions to broadly contribute to the field. Barbette started her career as a pediatric nurse. She served 26 years as an Air Force officer in diverse healthcare positions. As a researcher, she focused on workplace conditions of high-performing teams in healthcare and built a consulting practice coaching individuals and teams to high performance – which is why she first came to Stanford in 2014 as a professional fulfillment-burnout consultant. In that role, Barbette studied key drivers behind wellness & burnout in our providers/caregivers. Barbette is passionate about co-creating a systemic and strategic relationship-centered approach to physician/clinician fulfillment.
