Improving Efficiency on the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Service with Schedule-Based Family-Centered Round (Copy)

May 28th, 2024

Variation in rounds timing, organization and nursing presence can lead to inefficiencies in patient care. To address this, the pediatric hospital medicine service implemented schedule-based rounds in fall of 2019, adapting a successful model created by the pediatric cardiology service. In this talk, we will discuss our process of implementing schedule-based rounds on our resident-led team pediatric hospital medicine service and its impact on nursing presence, rounds end times and efficiency. We will share challenges encountered and lessons learned.
