Improving Long COVID Care

This talk explores the opportunities and challenges to improving care for patients with Long Covid, particularly in federally qualified health center and community settings. We will discuss the design of the Long Covid Care REACH project, including establishing collaborative partnerships with community stakeholders, and share lessons learned on intervention design, implementation strategies, and site specific considerations. Drawing from qualitative data, this presentation also includes patient and clinician perspectives on experiences with Long Covid healthcare in the pre-intervention period.
Linda Geng, MD, PhD
Dr. Linda Geng is Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Stanford University, Department of Medicine, Division of Primary Care and Population Health. Dr. Geng is co-founder and co-director of Stanford's Long COVID Collaborative, a multidisciplinary clinical and research program that aims to advance understanding, care, and treatments for Long COVID. Dr. Geng's research work includes clinical trials testing therapies for Long COVID, including as part of the NIH RECOVER initiative, and also improving clinical care models for diverse patients and communities with Long COVID as part of the AHRQ Long COVID Care Network
Hector Bonilla, MD
Dr. Hector Bonilla is the Medical Director of the ME/CFS at Stanford University and Co-director of the Stanford Long COVID clinic. Since April 2020, he has participated as a Co-investigator in the first outpatient SARS-CoV-2 therapeutic clinical and pathobiology studies at Stanford University. He is actively involved in Long COVID (patient care, clinical trials, and pathobiology initiatives. Since the RECOVER initiative was created, he has been actively participating in several committees and is an author and co-author of multiple RECOVER manuscripts.
