Improvement Capability Development at Stanford Medicine Children's Health

Learn about Stanford Childrenʼs approach to achieving a culture of continuous improvement through practical learning and improvement capability development. Participants will learn how Stanford Childrenʼs improvement course offerings (available to all faculty and staff across the broader Stanford Medicine Enterprise) support the development of improvement skills at every level—from foundational concepts to applied methods for leading improvement and managing change. Appropriate for faculty, leaders, managers, frontline staff, and improvement partners interested in learning about pathways and resources that advance improvement capability and support better outcomes for patients and families.
Sheri Nakamura, RN, MSN, CNS
Sheri Nakamura is the Capability Development Manager for Performance Improvement at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health. Drawing from her background as a pediatric nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialist, she leads a team that designs strategies and learning programs that foster a culture of continuous improvement. Sheri is dedicated to driving organizational excellence through scientific problem-solving that maximizes value and minimizes inefficiencies to optimize patient- and family-centered care through collaborative teamwork and innovation.
